At first glance, the set no. 6563 'Gator Landing' is just another wildlife retreat from the Leisure series. But in Europe, Lego marketed this set as 'The Gold Gang,' with a pretty suggestive description in the catalog: "with equipment for fast transportation - just in case." Wink-wink!

And if you look from that angle, all of a sudden, the innocuous camping scene does begin to appear a bit fishy. We have three guys, instead of a more typical nuclear family (for this subtheme), all dressed exactly how a criminal would dress. And the do pack lightly, to say the least—barely any luggage or camping gear, besides an ax and tons of cash!

Now think about any other City set from the era: typically, Lego is pretty cut-and-dry when it comes to designating their sets: either there's a happy family fishing, or a very obvious criminal hideout, with armed robbers in prison robes or wearing black masks, etc. And this moral ambiguity of the 'Gator Landing,' which somehow manages to be both, is highly unusual!

The build is about 98-99% complete, with just a few non-essential parts missing. UPD: correct Crocodile added.
