WIP for my architecture model of the Aachen Chathedral.

Originally intended for LEGO Ideas...until i found out buildings (and other things) referring to religion are a nogo

Many of you may know this as the brits wonder the world from AoE II.
For all the others: Its a cathedral in Aachen, germany, originally started by Charlemagne as his imperial palace. From this period come the 16 sided base of the building as well as the 8 sided dome above.
Over time, the tower, choir and numerous chapelles around its circumference were added. Especially the choir is of great architectural importance.

It was the first addition from germany to the UNSECO world hertiage. Due to its abundance of relics it is, after the Dome of the Rock (Jerusalem), Santiago de Compostela (Spain) and St. Peter's Basilica (Vatikan), the fourth most important place of pilgrimage of christianity.

UPDATE: i decided to switch over to sutd.io (bricklink) to finish. I posted some renders of the finished model here, but the final 3D can be found here:

Very nice model, Pizzasemmel! In some cases, it's too bad about that rule, I'd really like to see a cathedral set produced by LEGO...

This is incredibly well done
I just moved to Aachen, so I was very excited when I saw it! Keep on building it and watch out that the whole thing can stand (e.g. the crucifix does not stand on anything yet... but I think you also know that ^^). I love micro architecture, this is the reason I also made one (my parents' house). Great job

Looks like you scaled down the model for your rendering as I can see issues with SSS and round edges. Make sure you move the camera instead of scaling down the model as this is not supported.
