It didn’t take long before that thing was within hearing distance. It was an unusual buzz of what seemed like an electric engine. It wasn’t a vehicle as they had assumed, but seemed rather a bot. A hovering one with what seemed to be guns. And it was fast.
“It is coming too close!” SlimBrick1 panted.
“That’s why I proposed to stay and think!” WizardBuilds1 replied.
“To get caught without at least trying?” General_Veers commented.
“How do we even know if these guys are evil?” WizardBuilds1 wanted to know.
“I don’t know! It just seemed like the best option!” SlimBrick1 argued.
“And they also do it in the movies!” General_Veers added.
“This is not the time to joke!” WizardBuilds1 said.
“Sorry,” General_Veers grumbled. With their hearts pounding and the rhythm of their footsteps pounding on the floor they ran for freedom. Or their lives. They didn’t really know yet. They just kept running. Until General_Veers noticed something.
“He guys… Isn’t that thing ahead of us the same as the one behind us?” he panted.
“What thing?” WizardBuilds1 asked.
“Ohh.. You can’t be serious?” SlimBrick1 sighed. Robots don’t joke. At least not the last time I checked, flashed through General_Veers’ mind.
“Should we go right?” SlimBrick1 asked.
“How about left?” General_Veers suggested.
“Nah… Those things have us surrounded,” WizardBuilds1 observed. It didn’t take long for them to spot the remaining bots. There were four in total. Each one of them approached them from a different direction.
“We messed up...” SlimBrick1 sighed, and came to a stop.
“That’s why I proposed to stay and think!” WizardBuilds1 argued.
“Could you please stop with that!” General_Veers asked.
“Sorry!” WizardBuilds1 grumbled. They had all stopped running.
“Does anyone have any water?” SlimBrick1 asked.
“How could I possibly have any water? I just got here!” General_Veers replied. For a few moments no one said anything. The rumble of the engines came closer.
“SlimBrick1… Do you think we can actually drink anything?” WizardBuilds1 asked suddenly.
“What do you mean?” SlimBrick1 asked.
“Well… Have you ever seen a Mini-figure drink?” WizardBuilds1 asked.
“No… But some have mugs, so that must mean they can drink… Somehow...” SlimBrick1 answered.
“Hey guys! Is it just me or are we much calmer than we should be?” General_Veers asked.
“Maybe?” SlimBrick1 said. The bots came closer. The three of them positioned themselves back to back, trying to secure every direction. The bots came to a sudden stop just in front of them.
“Identification code,” one of them demanded.
“Uhh… SlimBrick1?” SlimBrick1 asked.
“Identification code invalid. Repeat,” the bot demanded.
“Let me try! 0299486345060,” WizardBuilds1 said.
“Identification code invalid. Repeat” the bot demanded.
“Did you seriously just say a random number?” General_Veers asked.
“Identification code invalid. Repeat!” the bot repeated.
“Why don’t you try?” WizardBuilds1 challenged General_Veers.
“Identification code invalid. Repeat,” the bot repeated.
“Okay… Uhh… Bananas!” General_Veers said.
“Identification code invalid. Reached the maximum amount of tries. Unidentified objects need to be exterminated,” the bot said.
“Hey chillax! What have we ever done?” SlimBrick1 asked.
“You exist. That you have done,” the bot replied.
“Well you also exist!” General_Veers argued.
“My existence doesn’t violate the system,” the bot answered.
“What system?” WizardBuilds1 asked.
“Error. Exterminate objects,” the robot said.
“Hey! I was talking to you!” WizardBuilds1 said. The bot moved one of its seemingly black guns.
“I don’t think it cares.” General_Veers commented.
“I noticed,” WizardBuilds1 said.
“Run?” SlimBrick1 asked.
“Seems like the best option!” General_Veers agreed.
“What are we waiting for?” WizardBuilds1 asked. They ran in between two of the bots. They reacted and the one who had already positioned his gun-thing shot first. It shot a red laser at them. It missed them luckily and harmlessly bounced off the ground.
“Are those lasers even dangerous?” WizardBuilds1 asked, curious after his observation.
“Do you want to find out? All you have to do is stand still!” SlimBrick1 replied.
“I don’t know!” WizardBuilds1 said. Now they were being chased by four of those bots. Each of them were using their weapons this time
“Veers! Any plans?” SlimBrick1 asked.
“Why are you asking me!” General_Veers asked.
“Maybe because you look like an imperial star wars commander? And your username even has commander in it! That should mean that you are strategically talented!” SlimBrick1 explained.
“Well I am not! Okay?” General_Veers shouted.
“Relax!” WizardBuilds1 urged.
“How should I relax with those things behind us?” General_Veers asked.
“Good point!” WizardBuilds1 agreed. It was around that time that SlimBrick1 heard a weird sound. It sounded like a mixture of a blaster shot and one of a gun. Only moments later there was an explosion. When he looked behind him, there were only three bots remaining.

General_Veers - Thanks!!

do those robots have artificial intelligence?
if so, getting rid of them is simply trivial!
for maximum defeation, do they think robots are better than humans?
my bigbrain's gears are turning.

justyouraveragebuilder - You might find more answers in the next part + I don't know if those robots are better than humans... But... Maybe

I read the next chapter, and my questions still stand!

you can't tell, but my face looks like that lego syndrome head right now

justyouraveragebuilder -
& the repeated "Identification code invalid. Repeat" was supposed to sound more like something that was programmed. Just like the "Reached the maximum amount of tries". But there is a bit more behind it...
so it's all preprogrammed? not even an inkling of intelligence? not even Cozmo-level?

justyouraveragebuilder - I can't spoil to much, but I said there is a little bit more behind it

AWESOME!! also, how did you make my two faces combined?

SlimBrick1 - Thanks!! & I duplicated the head, spu it around 180°. Then I rotated it by a tiny fraction on the 'X' axis and moved it abit foreward on the 'Z' axis. It was a delicate job

Wow! I’m glad I get to have a leading role in a Buddy/Sci-fi series! I especially like the line about “existence”

Did thy think of splashing water on them?

XillComics - Where would they get the water from?
I don’t know if water, fire, or similar elements exist in a tech world.
There can always, ALWAYS—be room for lasers, though!

Maybe leaveth MB world get some water go back in and kill them, or hack the data mainframe of the robot something I would do
