The build is ~98% exact; I had to create a MOC assembly to replace the 6x12x1⅓ plate, plus most stickers are missing.

This set no. 7642 'Garage' came out in May 2009 as part of the CITY theme. With over 950 parts, at the time of the release, the 'Garage' was one of the largest individual CITY sets, only matched by excellent Raphael Pretesacque's 2008 set no. 7744 'Police Headquarters.'

According to several LEGO wiki portals, the 'Garage' belongs to the CITY's sub-theme "Traffic"—but I couldn't establish the source! In the 2009 consumer catalogs (at least UK and European versions, as I didn't find a North American brochure), the "CITY" theme came undivided; no sub-themes. On the LEGO.com website, "CITY" had different subcategories: Transportation (not "Traffic"), Town Essentials, Police, Emergency Rescue, Construction, and Farm.

The 'Garage' is modular, with two "wings" attached to the main workshop via Technic pegs. The "office" on the left is the smallest room, mounted on an 8x16 baseplate, with some neat interior details, such as a coffeemaker, a desk with a rotating chair and a PC, additional consoles, etc.

The "workshop" in the center occupies a 16x32 baseplate. There are two designated spots for serviced vehicles (including a lifting ramp), a bunch of machinery, like a lathe and a table drill, smaller tools, a stack of spare tires, a sliding crane mounted on the ceiling.

On the right side, also measuring 16x32, is an actual garage with a rolling door.

The set comes with three vehicles, including a large Tow Truck with a neat crane mechanism.
